Heizo Takenaka is a professor of Faculty of Policy Management and director of the Global Security Research Institute at Keio University in Japan. And was formerly Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications (2005-2006). In his capacity as an economist and as part of his social activities, he also serves on several advisory boards and committees including: Member of the Policy Council under Abe Administration; Director, Academyhills and Chairman, Pasona Group Inc. He was named to the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum in 2007. Professor Takenaka's research interest is in economic policy.
Professor Takenaka received his B.A. in economics from Hitotsubashi University and his Ph.D in economics from Osaka University. Visiting Associate Professor at Harvard University (1989)

Born in 1965. Graduated from the International Economics Division, Faculty of Economics, Yokohama National University in 1988. Joined the Tokyo Tanshi, where he worked as a money market broker; served concurrently as an economist for the company from 1997 on. He has held his current position since 2013. He is a major BOJ watcher, acting as an economic commentator on TV programs, magazines and newspapers. His works include Is the Bank of Japan Dead?, The Tokyo Money Market, and Bernarnke's Fed. The latest issue is the Bank of Japan, NO EXIT! -Danger next to unprecedented monetary easing -.

He graduated from Kyoto University in 1997, and immediately joined the Ministry of Finance. Since then, he has held various positions in charge of fiscal policy and analysis of Japanese public finance and social security system, at the Government of Japan. He also served as Senior Economist at Policy Research Institute, the Ministry of Finance and Associate Professor at the Institute of Economic Research, Hitotsubashi University. His expertise is in Public Economics. Ph.D. in Economics.

Michael Pettis is a professor of international finance at Peking University's Guanghua School of Management and Senior Associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
Mr. Pettis spent 9 years teaching at Columbia University, and three years teaching at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Before moving to China in 2001, he was managing director and head of the liability management and Latin American capital markets groups at Bear Stearns. He has also run fixed income trading and capital market teams at CSFB and JP Morgan.
