Dr. Bremmer is the founder and president of Eurasia Group, the leading global political risk research and consulting firm. The company provides financial, corporate, and government clients with information and insight on how political developments move markets.

Dr. Bremmer created Wall Street's first global political risk index, and has authored several books, including "Every Nation for Itself: Winners and Losers in a G-Zero World", which details risks and opportunities in a world without global leadership. He also wrote the national bestseller, "The End of the Free Market: Who Wins the War Between States and Corporations?", and "The J Curve: A New Way to Understand Why Nations Rise and Fall", which was selected by The Economist as one of the best books of 2006. Dr. Bremmer is a contributor for the Financial Times A-List and Reuters.com, and writes "The Call" blog on ForeignPolicy.com.

Dr. Bremmer has a PhD in political science from Stanford University (1994), and he presently teaches at Columbia University.

Dr. Funabashi is Chairman of the RJIF and a former Editor-in-Chief and Columnist for the Asahi Shimbun after he served as correspondent for the Asahi Shimbun in Beijing (1980-81) and Washington (1984-87), and as American General Bureau Chief (1993-97). He is a contributing editor of Foreign Policy (Washington, DC). He is an executive board member of International Crisis Group and a member of the Trilateral Commission.

Dr. Funabashi founded RJIF in 2011 and played a leading role in establishing "Independent Investigation Commission on the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident". The RJIF has been ranked in the top 24 think-tank Best Policy Study/Report Produced, according to the e2012 Global Go-to Think Tank Rankingf announced by the TTCSP survey at the University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Recently, he won the Oya Soichi Nonfiction Award in 2013 for his book on the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Accident 'Countdown to Meltdown'.

His books in English include The Peninsula Question (Brookings Institution, 2007); Reconciliation in the Asia-Pacific, ed. (USIP, 2003,); Alliance Tomorrow, ed. Dr. Funabashi received his B.A. from the University of Tokyo in 1968 and his Ph.D. from Keio University in 1992. He was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University (1975-76), a visiting Fellow at the Institute for International Economics (1987), a Donald Keene Fellow at Columbia University (2003), and a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo Public Policy Institute (2005-2006).

Dr. Eichengreen received his BA from UC Santa Cruz and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1979.

Before joining Daiwa, Dr. Moran worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. where he analyzed a broad range of issues dealing with the financial sector of the economy.

Mr. Lai joined Daiwa as a senior economist in 2007. Prior to that, he worked in similar positions for Hang Seng Bank and National Australia Bank for more than 10 years. He has conducted extensive macroeconomic research, as well as analysing key industries in the region. Mr. Lai was nominated as the AustCham NAB Economist from 2000 to 2003. His hallmark publications include two papers in 2002 forecasting a long-term boom in outbound tourism and oil demand in China. More recently, he has been known as a contrarian economist and has made a few influential macro calls. Mr. Lai graduated from the London School of Economics in 1994.

Mr. Chris Scicluna heads Daiwafs research capacity on the major European economies and non-Asian emerging markets, while also working closely with Daiwafs analysts in Tokyo to lead Daiwa Europefs research on Japanfs economy and financial markets.

Prior to joining Daiwa in 2005, Mr. Scicluna spent more than eight years as an economist at the UK Treasury. He had a range of roles, including as head of the European economic analysis team, and earlier advised on the Asian and emerging market financial crises during the second half of the 1990s.

Mr. Scicluna also worked for three years at the European Commission developing policy relating to the functioning of the euro and European financial regulation.

Mr. Scicluna has a BSc in Economics and Statistics, and an MA in International Economics.

Mr. Lewis joined Daiwa in 2000 as its European Economist, becoming Head of Economic Research in 2003 and Head of Research in 2011.

Prior to joining Daiwa, Mr. Lewis worked for five years at the UK Treasury where he worked in a variety of policy and analytical roles, including the assessment of whether the UK should join the euro and the UKfs fiscal policy framework.

Mr. Masanao is a managing director in the Tokyo office and head of portfolio management Japan. He is also a core member of PIMCO's Asia-Pacific Portfolio Committee, responsible for the region's macroeconomic and investment analysis.

Mr. Masanao joined PIMCO in 2001 as a global portfolio manager in the Newport Beach office and has been based in Tokyo since 2002, managing global and Japanese portfolios. Prior to joining PIMCO, he was an executive director and senior portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in London. He was also with Sumitomo Bank as a proprietary trader in London and a credit analyst in Osaka. He has 23 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from Boston University. He also holds a master's degree and an undergraduate degree, both in engineering, from Osaka University.

Mr. Maeda is known well as the BOJ top economist.

He joined the Bank of Japan in 1985. He was appointed in 2011 to be Head of Research and Statistics Department. Before that, he worked as Director-General, Senior Secretary to the governor.

He was also Associate Director-General, Financial System and Bank Examination Department during 2009-2010, Associate Director-General, Research and Statistics Department during 2006-2009, Director, Head of Open Market Operations, Financial Markets Department during 2003-2006.

Mr. Maeda earned his Bachelor of Economics from The University of Tokyo in 1985 and his MA in Economics from Northwestern University in 1990.

Mr. Ishiba became the Secretary-General, Liberal Democratic Party in September 2012. Prior to that, he was Chairman, Policy Research Council, LDP in 2009, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2008 in the Aso cabinet, Minister of Defense in the Fukuda cabinet, Defense Agency chief in the Koizumi cabinet, Senior Parliamentary Secretary of State for Defense/Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the Mori cabinet, and Parliamentary Vice Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the Miyazawa cabinet.

In 1986, he was first elected to the House of Representatives as the youngest member, since then re-elected nine times.

Mr. Ishiba graduated from Faculty of Law, Keio University and entered Mitsui Bank in 1979.
