Mervyn King (Lord King of Lothbury, KG, GBE, FBA) served as Governor of the Bank of England and Chairman of the Monetary Policy Committee and Financial Policy Committee from 2003 - June 2013. He was previously Deputy Governor from 1998 to 2003, Chief Economist and Executive Director from 1991, and non-executive director of the Bank from 1990 to 1991.
Born in 1948, Lord King studied at King’s College, Cambridge, and Harvard (as a Kennedy Scholar) and taught at Cambridge and Birmingham Universities before spells as Visiting Professor at both Harvard University and MIT. From October 1984 he was Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics where he founded the Financial Markets Group. Lord King took up a position as Professor of Economics and Law at New York University in September 2014, and a position as School Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics in 2015.

Dr. Adam S. Posen is President of the Peterson Institute for International Economics, the world’s leading non-partisan think tank on economics and globalisation. He is one of the world’s foremost experts on fiscal and monetary policy, financial crises, and the economies of Europe, Japan, and the United States.
From September 2009, by appointment of the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Dr. Posen served for three years as an external member of the Bank of England’s rate-setting Monetary Policy Committee. During this criti¬cal period for the world economy, he was a prominent advocate of activist policy response to the financial crisis, successfully led the MPC into quantitative easing, brought innovative efforts to stimulate business investment to the top of the UK economic agenda, and accurately forecast global inflation developments.

Mr. David Daoukui Li is one of China’s leading economists and is a top advisor to China’s senior leadership. Mr. Li is regularly cited in the financial media - Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg, New York Times, South China Morning Post, Bloomberg and more - for his insights into Chinese economic policies and their impact on the global marketplace. In 1993, Mr.Kishida was first elected to the House of Representatives, since then re-elected eight times.
Mr. Kishida graduated from School of Low, Waseda University.

Michael J Moran is the chief economist of Daiwa Capital Markets America Inc. He is responsible for preparing the firm’s economic forecast and interest rate outlook. He travels frequently to visit the clients of Daiwa Securities and writes weekly economic commentary. Mr. Moran also is involved in the flux of financial markets, as he spends a portion of each day on Daiwa’s trading floor interpreting economic statistics and Federal Reserve activity for traders and salespeople. Mr. Moran is quoted frequently in the financial press, appears regularly on cable news shows, and writes periodically for one of Japan’s leading newspapers, the Nikkei Financial Daily. He also has published articles in several journals and periodicals. Before joining Daiwa Securities America, Mr. Moran worked as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, D.C. where he analyzed a broad range of issues dealing with the financial sector of the economy. He was on the faculty of Pennsylvania State University from1979 to 1980 and taught on a part-time basis at George Washington University from 1980 to 1987. Mr. Moran received his Ph.D. in economics from Pennsylvania State University in 1980 and a B.S. in business administration from the University of Bridgeport in 1975.

Mr. Chris Scicluna heads Daiwa’s research capacity on the major European economies and non-Asian emerging markets, while also working closely with Daiwa’s analysts in Tokyo to lead Daiwa Europe’s research on Japan’s economy and financial markets.
Prior to joining Daiwa in 2005, Mr. Scicluna spent more than eight years as an economist at the UK Treasury. He had a range of roles, including as head of the European economic analysis team, and earlier advised on the Asian and emerging market financial crises during the second half of the 1990s.
Mr. Scicluna also worked for three years at the European Commission developing policy relating to the functioning of the Euro and European financial regulation.
Mr. Scicluna has a BSc in Economics and Statistics, and an MA in International Economics.

Kevin has 20 years’ experience as a regional economist, being one of the few on the street today to have witnessed the entire Asian Financial Crisis, from start to finish. In early 2014, he established three major “outlier” calls. First, he predicted the US Dollar would enter a new phase of strength. Second, he anticipated massive money outflows from China. Third, he argued that the CNY would come under immense depreciation pressure and the world should be worried about it. More recently, he argued that China would turn aggressive with its monetary policy, but that such a policy would ultimately be in vain. Kevin’s views have not always been warmly received. Yet the eventual outcomes underline his prescience, with Bloomberg flagging that prescience in an article entitled “Yuan Bear in the Wilderness in 2014 Now Warns of China Credit Crisis”. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kevin graduated from the London School of Economics in 1994.

Mr. Lewis joined Daiwa in 2000 as its European Economist, becoming Head of Economic Research in 2003 and Head of Research in 2011. Prior to joining Daiwa, Mr. Lewis worked for five years at the UK Treasury where he worked in a variety of policy and analytical roles, including the assessment of whether the UK should join the euro and the UK’s fiscal policy framework.
